چکیده

The paper describes recent design and development efforts in DLR`s robotics lab towards a new generation of “mechatronic” ultra-light weight robots with articulated hands and high-level remote programmability. The design of fully sensorized robot joints with complete state feedback and the underlying mechanisms are outlined. The second light-weight arm generation is available now the third is in preparation; in the same way the second generation of a most highly integrated 4 finger-hand is near completion. And the task-level programming system MARCO has proven its potential in ETSVII, NASDA`s free-flying space robot projects. Together with the Canadian Space Agency we prepare its use for the space station robot arm’s ground control. Thus it is hoped that big steps towards a new generation of space as well as service and personal robots have been achieved.

Dual Space Control of a Deployable Cable Driven Robot: Wave Based Approach

Known for their lower costs and numerous applications, cable robots are an attractive research field in robotic community. However, considering the fact that they require an accurate installation procedure and calibration routine, they have not yet found their true place in real-world applications. This paper aims to propose a new controller strategy that requires no meticulous calibration and ...

Disturbance Observer Design for Robotic and Telerobotic Systems

Employing disturbance observers is an effective way of enhancing the stability and performance of the control systems subject to disturbances. Disturbance observers have been extensively used for control of mechatronic systems since their introduction in the 1980s. This thesis studies the design of nonlinear disturbance observers for robotic manipulators and their applications in the control of...

Bond Graph Modelling and Simulation of Mechatronic Systems An Introduction into the Methodology

This paper introduces into a graphical, computer aided modelling methodology that is particularly suited for the concurrent design of mechatronic systems, viz. of engineering systems with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic components including interactions of physical effects from various energy domains. Beyond the introduction, bond graph modelling of multibody systems, as an examp...
